My yoga journey began over 20 years ago, when I stumbled across a small yoga studio on my street in Toronto. This small studio would soon turn into the hugely successful Modo Yoga chain and I was dedicated to the practice of hot yoga for many years afterwards. I spent time working as an Energy Exchange student at Moksha Yoga and then at Yoga Grove, both based in Toronto.
The discovery of yoga changed the course of my life. Through a friend, I met Dana Chapman at Bee Birch yoga therapy and under her training, I gained my certification to teach children in 2018 and started teaching family and kids at Yoga Grove and the Holistic Way. This certification followed with my 300hr YTT certificate in 2019 through Yoga Therapy Toronto.
Although I enjoy any kind of yoga teaching, nothing makes me happier than seeing the sheer joy of children while they are practicing yoga. As my own girls become more independent, it was the perfect time to invest in my own business as Michelle Faber was starting to offer franchises of Little Yogis Academy. It is truly a dream come true to manage this business and teach the little ones in my own area and I'm thrilled to be operating Little Yogis Academy Peel.
I am grateful that my yoga journey has led me to this point. Yoga is a never-ending practice and provides lifelong tools to our children to manage our increasingly stressful world. Through games, stories and songs, we make yoga and mindfulness fun for them to learn. I never cease to be amazed at their love for final rest or meditation. They truly find peace in their own stillness at the end of their energetic class. They really are the best Little Yogis!
