Physical & Mental Health Classes for the Whole School Community

Students’ health and wellbeing contribute to their ability to learn in all disciplines, including health and physical education, contributing to their overall well-being. A well-rounded educational experience prioritizes social-emotional learning, physical and mental health, and inclusion together with academic success for all students. Parents, community partners, and educators all have critical roles in achieving this. The Little Yogis mental health and wellness curriculum engages students in learning about the factors that contribute to health and well-being and in building skills to live mentally and physically health and active lives.

Global Children’s Mental Health Crisis

Latest data suggests our kids are not okay. 

According to the World Health Organization, mental health disorders will be the world’s leading cause of disability by 2030, and “the consequences of failing to address adolescent mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health and limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as adults.”

Childhood and adolescence are critical stages of life for mental health. This is a time when rapid growth and development take place in the brain. Children and adolescents acquire cognitive and social-emotional skills that shape their future mental health and are important for assuming adult roles in society.
